Some internet goodness

Nothing really to report, I am trying to stay calm for Monday, I fear I may be failing. I've got nothing to do at the moment and I can only knit for so long until my wrist goes numb, as a result I've been on the internet...lots.

First is a site called Crochet and Knit Giveaways, if you fancy receiving some yummy yarn, or something made by someone else, or want to give stuff away check out the site and add them to your feed reader. I've got a couple of giveaways planned over the next couple of months so I'll be adding some posts to there.

Second is a site called Storytellers, it's a site where people submit storied based around characters with a knitting theme. There are no prizes, but I loved reading the stories, and would definitely submit my own if I actually had an imagination that could do this sort of thing!

I was sure I had more, but I can't seem to find them, maybe another post tomorrow, after I've cleaned the kitchen and bathroom.

Holiday pictures

If you don't want to see some pictures of my holiday feel free to move right on, however most of them are now up on friends Facebook pages, so I can now steal them and put them here, 1 set is still m.i.a but I'll forgive him as one holiday is just not good enough for this friend, he had to go and go on holiday immediately after this one!

This is what Pembrokeshire should be like in August, blazing sun, blue skies and sparkling sea.

However it looked like this most of the time, and it's a sign of how much I love you guys that I am willing to post this here, I really am not that chunky in real life, I just had 2 coats on, yes 2 coats, in August.... wtf?

The 2 coats were needed as we had weather that decided to do this...

For some perspective, this is the same harbour wall from last year at what is probably an hour away from high tide, neither me, or my parents have ever seen waves breaking over this wall before. Amazing what a strong wind and a high tide can do!

It led to waves breaking over the cliff tops, which we discovered when we went to look at the top of the crag we had been climbing on and a wave broke over the top of our heads!

We were standing at the obvious top in this picture.
My younger brother got a hard climb done (which I then followed him up), he always sticks his tongue out when he concentrates! Bless!

And to prove I did some climbing here's one of me, not climbing something quite so hard!

And finally a picture of what we did when not climbing, kite flying, or not in my case, it looked like hard work, and I like my feet to remain attached to something solid!

Woah, this is going to be a long post! Thanks Ginger for taking some lovely photos, and thanks guys for an awesome week despite the rain, who knew you could cram so many people in a 2 person camper van to escape the wind and rain!

See you in 2012

I'm a massive Olympics fan, the week before I went on holiday was a week of televisual joy for me! If it's on I'll watch it, there are some sports I'm not so keen on, but I love being able to watch sports on TV that you only ever see during the Olympics. Of course it helped that Team GB had a hugely successful Olympics, 4th the medals table only behind Russia, USA and China is amazing, 19 Golds and 47 total medals is unbelievable. Admittedly most of them came in our traditional strong sports like Sailing, cycling and rowing, but you know what, I don't care!
During the Olympics I have also had my own little personal challenge organised via Ravelry called the Ravelympics. We had 2 weeks, casting on at the lighting of the flame, and finishing when the flame went out to knit something from scratch. I completed mine so received my winners medal!

The photo isn't going to be posted here as it is also my first Christmas present for somebody, though if you're truely desperate to see it I'm sure you can work out how (look right).
I'm about to start some blog fiddling, who knows what will happen!

One week

That's how long I have until I enter the world of work for good. Sounds scary doesn't it! After I've got back from holiday it's all become far more real, as it's the next big thing that's happening. However between then and now I need to sort out all the chaos from being on a wet, windy, sunny amping holiday. All the climbing kit needs washing as it's all got salty and it's not a good idea to leave it that way, all the kitchen stuff needs washing as it's rather dirty, and I need to go shopping as I have no food to eat.
For now I'll leave you with a cimbing photo and get going with the day. Hopefully I'll have a few more photos in a bit, I'm waiting for other people to upload them as I'm ashamed to say that I took practically no photos!
