More snow

I sense a theme developing here.... after being in yesterday school officially opened today and closed an hour later after only 10% of the pupils made it in and the snow was still falling.
The blizzard at 9am
First thing this morning as I was leaving.
The cars trying to get to work
The commuters who will be in for a surprise when they try and get home.

The road down to school
The road down to school.

What the side roads look like
and what the side roads looked like on the way back up the hill going home.
Plans for today surprise surprise include knitting, spinning and generally relaxing. Maybe I'll have something to post about other than snow soon!

Snowy Peak District

I made the most of my day off and drove out in to the Peak to meet my parents. The main roads were ok, but any side roads were completely snowed over. We had a lovely walk, and I'm so glad I could get out and enjoy it.

Snow day

On top of the half day yesterday, which coincidently was a wise decision as the traffic driving home in the blizzard at 4pm was horrendous. I had great fun watching cars sledging down our road with the added thrill of hoping they didn't hot my car! Anyway back on track, we have a day off today as a foot of snow fell yesterday and overnight. It's very cold here today, but I braved the chilly air to take some pictures! I don't think this little lot is going to melt and we have more forecast!

Snow half day

School closed at lunchtime. Regardless of wether you agree with it or not, it wasn't my decision so I am going to make the most of it! It was actually harder getting in than it was getting home. However as I type it seems to be getting heavier. Todays aims are to finish my Endpaper Mitts, then I might do a bit more spinning. More snow is forecast, who knows what tomorrow may bring...
