Well I'm back, the bags were very overweight! How Lex's weighed 5kg over the limit and nearly 10kg heavier than some one the trip we have no idea, we honestly didn't take that much stuff. The lovely check in people however didn't charge us extra, thank you nice people!
The trip was really good, I didn't relly climb as hard as I wanted to, but 2 days of rain, and not finding the right type of climbs to suit me are partly to blame. We crashed both hire cars.... in to each other.... our worst case scenario. The damage is minimal, basically one of them drove in to the back of the other at a junction, so small damage but we'll still have to pay the damage fee. Hopefully only on one, and not both as one car has a tiny scratch on the bumper, the other had 3 pannels damaged, and a large crack in a plastic bit round the boot!
We had a gorgeous meal out, and I ate the best seafood ever in my life. I also got one of the worst hangovers of my life...ever, combined with much car sickness.
Pictures will be posted later, just need to get them off the camera.

Off on holiday
I'm going for a week in sardinia, the flight leaves this afternoon. I'm busy looking at the pile of bags trying towork out if I have everything and praying they're under the weight limit (likely they're not, please let the check in person be nice!) Problem is that all the heavy stuff has to go in the hold, ropes and karabiners are apparently a bit of a no no in hand luggage do to the possibility of threatening and tying up the cabin crew. That means the only extra weight you can really put in hand luggage is clothes, and they take up more space than is allowed in hand luggage....ahhhh!
Anyway I'm sure all will be fine, and if it's not it can turn in to an adventure like the minibus breaking down and then getting stuck! So please pray for nice weather I really want to get some climbing done, which requires no rain!

In which I'm being incredibly lazy
I'm really enjoying this week so far. It's nice as i have enough things to do to stop me being bored, but not so much that I'm not getting a nice rest. So what that its 11am and I'm still in bed, I have a relatively small list of things to do and they'll get done! Biggest job is going to the library, now I could get some books out to take on holiday next week, but I have decreed this holiday to be a work free zone!
I still need to pack, and worry how I'm going to cope with the 15kg luggage allowance from Ryan Air, but apart from that I'm chilled about the holiday. The hire cars are booked (big worry earlier this week), I've booked the airport parking, have my passport etc. got the currency, and everything seems to be under control. Having said that we'll probably arrive at the airport and all will go very very wrong! At least if I'm expecting it it can't be worse than I was expecting.
At least we have insurance in preparation for someone breaking their leg!

Preperation for the insomnia
Well for some reason I am doing it again, yes I am taking my Rainbows away for a night again. Now I love doing it, in case you hadn't noticed organising things and other people makes me insanely happy, so sorting out food and all the details for 12 children and 4 adults is almost as good as sex! (Note the use of almost there!), and definitely better than chocolate.
When the rainbows are awake it's fine, it's when they go to bed and I then try to sleep that insomnia hits. My mind goes in to overdrive wondering if they're all still breathing and whether the one with blood sugar problems needs to eat, and if I fed her enough before she went to bed. So all in all I don't sleep well, luckily I can send them home at 12, and go home and collapse, and start thinking about next year!
Anyway I'm sure we'll all have a lovely time, we're doing pretty much the same as last year. We go to a local working farm, and in the morning go and do farm job. I have a lovely set of farm crafts planned, with no glitter this time. Again we're making pizza dough, and last time the glitter from the previous craft turned the dough slightly sparkly! Very pretty if a little worrying!

This is a picture of a surfer on the largest wave in the world.
It goes up the Amazon river twice a year and is known as the Pororoca. For surfers it's huge draw, after all surfing for 30 minutes at a time just isn't possible on the Sea! Only problem are the whole trees and poisonous snakes that are swept up by the wave!
Anyway the point of this post is just appreciating how amazing our world is. I spent this weekend in the Yorkshire Dales, and while the temperatures were a damn sight colder than in Brazil the things we saw were amazing. There are some beautiful caves and limestone outcrops in that part of the UK. So while I broke down in another minibus (I've had 2 breakdown this year, all the other drivers haven't had a single one!), and nearly got stuck in a field, and didn't do any climbing it was a pretty cool weekend with lots of drinking, and plenty of banter!

Breath in, breath out
I'm having anger management issues today. I left the house Wednesday night with everything in the kitchen looking reasonable, come home Thursday night and the place is like a tip. We have a bit of a slug problem in this house, which is not surprising as my housemates seem incapable of tidying up after themselves. I must have wiped and swept up nearly a loaf full of bread crumbs, a bag full of peas, 3 carrots and I don't want to think what else. Why is it so hard....if you drop something on the floor, sweep it up or pick it up. After you finish cooking if you know you've spilt sauce everywhere wipe it up ahhhhhhhhh!
I am so fucking sick of being the only one who knows where the dust pan and brush are and how to use a dish cloth to remove the stuck on bits instead of thinking that a covering of antibacterial spray is cleaning.
Sorry you all had to hear this but Lex is away and he's my usual outlet for this kind of shit, and if i didn't express my frustration I would be losing my temper with someone which I really don't want to do.
Only an hour and a half untill I can go and pick up a minibus and my weekend of fun in Yorkshire can begin.

The Sun is shining ...
Was up very early yesterday on one of my days off from lectures and was out climbing at 8am.... I still can't quite believe it either. It was however one of those days where the weather is just so gorgeous that being outside was an absolute pleasure. I didn't actually do any climbing but we took Lex's video camera with us....and this is the result
Todays weather is also gorgeous, so I'm off out again after my lecture with the climbing club. When we get good weather like this I'm so grateful I got organised and wrote my essays instead of climbing indoors, despite having 2 essays due in next Wednesday they're both written and just need small amounts of editing so I can climb with no guilt!
The freezer by the way, has decided to work again, I'm praying it breaks down soon, so we can have a new one and not have to check it every day wondering how much food will be ruined! For the mean time I'm not here this weekend so my food is staying safe in Lex's freezer just in case!
