Haiti
I'm fairly certain you would have had to be hiding under a large rock to have missed the new about the Haitian earthquake, if however you've not donated and want to, you can go to the widget on the right and donate to msf, via the wonders of p/hop. While you're at it you can go and grab a free knitting pattern as your reward.
The reason for my current radio silence is the return to work, this term is going much better, though I'm still busy, and the presence of a new bloke in my life. He might make an odd appearance now and again on here, I'd hate to think I'd not mentioned it.
I'm still knitting, still procrastinating, still working my own little brand of crazy, but best of all, I'm enjoying life massively right now.

Winter woolies to match the winter wonderland
It's still very snowy here. The snow that fell last week hasn't melted as we've had below freezing temperatures all week, more snow is also falling. As long as I don't try and park outside my house at the top of the hill then I'm ok. Part of me quite likes all this snow, though I have just ordered some wool tights so I can wear skirts as I'm sick of getting my trousers soggy in the slush/snow. They should arrive just in time for it all to melt!
My new jumper however is finished just in time. Wool really is wonderfully warm, I'm sat here in my newly finished owl sweater and I'm really cozy!

(Click for biggness), eventually the snow will melt and I'll have to think of something else to write about!

Winter Wonderland
The snow was shall we say badly timed. Nothing when I left for work at 7am, started snowing at 8am, by the start of school it was clear the forecast was correct. We finally ended up with 6 inches (easily) before we were allowed home from work. Some schools in the area didn't even open, others closed almost immediately. WE were the last to stay open....
However the snow is very pretty, the main roads are open, and I will still be able to get to my knitting group tonight!

Happy New Year
No resolutions from me. I am very happy with my life right now (minor irritations with my job not withstanding!)
I looked back on some photos from the last year and realised that in the vast majority of them I'm smiling. Sometimes in my work life things happen that are not so great. However I can get through those things because my personal life is filled with good people, and my spare time is filled doing things I love.
Maybe that's my New Years Resolution; carry on making time for me.
May 2010 be fabulous for all of you!

and yet more snow....
sorry for the general theme, but it i just so odd to be getting this much snow in the UK. As I type, with the cat curled up on my lap, Mum is playing on her spinning wheel, and the rest of the family is alternating watching Jason and the Argonauts with staring n disbelief at the blizzard outside. It's been trying to snow all morning but has mostly been very cold rain. I think this time the snow might stick!
General motivation for manual labour is low when the weather is like this, so to amuse ourselves this morning we went to the one and only local tourist attraction for coffee and cake. It's an old woolen mill, which unfortunately no longer has any sort of functionality as a mill, but does still have an old pack horse bridge over the river dating back to the 1700's.

I've just completed some school work, and as a reward am going to pick up my knitting. I've nearly finished the body to a jumper.
