sorry

the obsession continues, and really there is nothing else interesting going on right now. there are no cute kids, or even cute pets to photograph, and to be honest I don't do photos of myself, and my experssion right now is one of tiredness rather than cuteness...
Meantime, have another handspun photo, this is attempt number 3.

MIA

I've been rather missing in action from the internet over the last few days as I have a new toy to play with.

Look what I made!
1st ever handspunThis was the first attempt, it actually looks better in person, and may even be knittable!
2nd ever handspun
This second skein is much better and is definitely knittable, though I have no idea in to what!

What a day

Despite Tuesday's being my easiest teaching load I always finished the day feeling drained! I teach my 2 most difficult groups and spend the rest of the day planning and marking. After a day at school I also had my first Rainbow meeting of the term. We had 5 new starters tonight which might not sound much but is actually a third of the unit. In addition to that one of the older Rainbows decided that she wanted to do nothing but cry when she didn't get her own way. Luckily I'm remarkably good at ignoring this behaviour and I don't think she'll try it again having hopefully realised it won't work!
I'm also trying to organise a date to take the Rainbows away for a night, it's harder than you think to find a weekend that 4 busy adults are all free on, and you can book the accommodation!
After rainbows is knitting, which is lovely as I get to see al my knitting friends who are always good for just the sort of natter I enjoy, they're a fabulous group of funny, smart and to be quite honest dirty minded women, I love them to bits!
It's after bedtime, but I am determined to keep posting regularly so thought I'd better drop by with an update. Besides which if it wasn't for this blog and Facebook my Mum would have no idea what I'm up to!

The world's not so bad after all

The weather today is being in considerate. After a week of dryness, it has spent the night chucking it down, at one point it was loud enough to wake me up. and all morning there have been odd showers, this is really annoying as I have to go in to town today, which means walking or spending money on the bus (= no Starbucks treat in town), driving through the city is madness. My new Rainbows start on Tuesday and I have none of the things I need to give them! The Scout and guide shop only opens on a Saturday so I can't even put it off until tomorrow!
I have a few things I need and apart from that I am not buying any more, as I need to start saving for my SkipNorth trip, or I will have no money to spend!
I'm also still trying to save for a new camera as mine is rubbish, I've found the one I'm after, but need to wait to buy it until I have some money. Nobody would go in to teaching for the salary when you first start!
On the bright side I have just been given one of the things I was really wanting, I mentioned my desire to learn how to spin on one of the Ravelry boards and a very kind person offered me her spare unused wheel for free. (I know I can't quite believe it either)

Mornings

Mornings are the most evil part of the day. It takes me an extortionately long time to rouse myself out of bed, we're talking 45 minutes here, admittedly I do get up and make breakfast but then go back to bed with it. At times when it is still dark outside it seems the only logical place to be.
I've also got a hankering for some decent cold weather, like we had over New Year. All the pictures of the freezing weather over in America and Canada is making me very jealous. Maybe it will come over here.

Right the sky has turned from black to grey so that means work is calling...

Brain freeze

This blogger is having a brain freeze. Right now nothing seems interesting enough to bother blogging about. I'm knitting baby things for someone at school and am busy knitting Tudor Grace lace scarf. It's 2 weeks in to school, only 4 and a half left until the summer. I also really need to organise our possible trip to France bouldering over Easter or it just won't happen!
In the mean time have a pair of socks! Normal service will return shortly....
